Ground Plan Description and Dimensions
Ground plan:
A rectangular single-cell building with a bell-turret for one bell on the western gable.
Description of Archaeology and History
Architect unknown, c. 1840.
Exterior Description
A simple chapel-like building constructed of coursed magnesium limestone with dressed stonework to the windows and buttresses and with slate roofs. The north and south walls are of 4 bays, articulated by buttresses alternating with transomed windows. The detailing of the west elevation is symmetrical: the doorway has a four-centred archway with a plain hood-moulding and is flanked by single-light windows set in deep reveals. Above the doorway is a similar window. The three-light east window is transomed and has intersecting tracery in the head.
Interior
Interior Description
Like the exterior the interior is extremely simple. The walls and ceiling are plastered and whitened; the floors are of stone. There is no architectural distinction between the nave and chancel and the sanctuary is slightly raised* The only notable feature is the timber panelled. western gallery.
