Stained Glass
1933
Only the east window of the chancel has stained glass, and this was part of the 1932 refurnishing of the chancel. The designer was F.E. Howard of Oxford and the work was carried out by Jones and Willis; it is dated 1933 and represents St. Mary the Virgin flanked by St. George and St. Michael with Christ the Saviour and angels with shields in the tracery.
Interior
Fixtures and fittings
Altar
1932
The altar dates from the 1932 refurnishing of the chancel and is of oak, in the Jacobean style with baluster legs but of a width consonant with the ideas of the time (i.e. the width of the east window).
Pulpit
1769
The pulpit belongs to the work of 1769 and is of oak, hexagonal, with fielded panels in each face and a little applied ornament of ribbons and florets on the cornice.
Font (object)
13th Century
The font stands at the west end of the central alley of the nave; it is a standard plain thirteenth-century design of Purbeck marble with paired blind arches on each face of the octagonal bowl and standing on an octagonal base with simple mouldings; the cover is spire- shaped with convex sides, with a ball on the top, doubtless of 1769.
Organ (object)
The organ is a single manual instrument by George Maydwell Holdich, rebuilt by Boggis of Diss in c.1977; there is only one rank of pipes, with a stopped bass and open treble and an octave coupler. The case is in churchwarden gothic style with a front of three flats of dummy pipes arranged 3-19-3 under a straight castellated top.
