Altar
c.1920
The altar is of oak, a War Memorial and therefore of c.1920, with three panels carved in relief under a vine trail cornice, one with the Agnus Dei in the centre and others with the Pelican in Her Peity and the Phoenix at each side. In the middle is a brass plate saying that the altar and reredos are a memorial to "Jean Francois Asnong, of the Belgian Army" (a friend of the family at Chignal Hall) "and the Boys from this Parish".
Reredos
c.1920
The reredos is part of the same scheme as the altar, in carved oak; it has panels under cresting below the east window and niches at each side containing statues of The Virgin Mary and St. James. There are also panels at each side against the wall, returning along the north and south walls of the sanctuary.
Pulpit
1865
The pulpit probably dates from 1865 and is of oak, irregular in plan, affixed in front of the upper arch of the rood stair by which it is reached. It has panels with cusped arches in the head of each and a moulded top edge. Along the lower edge is a cresting of ogee arches. A brass book-rest.
Lectern
1972
The lectern is an oak eagle carved by Mabbitt of Chelmsford.
Font (object)
1838
The font is an elegant design of artificial stone signed by Joslin, 1838; it is octagonal with a moulded base, arched panels in each face of the slender stem and quatrefoils in recesses on each face of the bowl. It is reminiscent of the font at Dedham.
Organ (object)
The organ is an interesting small two-manual instrument, obviously not in its original position, (indeed it was bought from Galleywood in 1924), clad in an oak case of Churchwarden Gothick style with five flats along the front with gilded dummy pipes arranged 5-5-7-5-5; the console is also of oak and has straight jambs with stop knobs on square shanks, the keys with moulded fronts.
